WaiVers

All passengers on the Peace are required to complete a waivers prior to departure. If the passenger is a minor, the forms must be completed and signed by a parent or legal guardian. The parent or legal guardian does not need to be aboard the Peace to fill out and sign the forms.

Waivers can be filled out up to 30 days before the trip. Waivers must be completed by all passengers and verified by the crew prior to departure. Filling out waivers prior to boarding can speed up this process. Repeat passengers must complete a new waiver for each trip which includes the date for that trip. The date to enter in the date attending field is the first dive day of the trip.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes we are!

  • There are two ways to dive with Peace!

The first way is called an open boat. Open boats are available for anyone to reserve a space. Be sure to read the description of the planned activities to be sure it is the type of trips you are looking for. Passengers for open boats make reservations directly on the Peace website. The easiest way to find open boats is to visit our Open Boat Schedule Page.

Open boat trips are booked directly with the Peace. The Peace also hosts many other trips as charters through dive shops, dive clubs and private groups. Those trips can be found on the Peace calendar. Click on any date with a trip listed to see information about that trip and how to make a reservation.

Please note that each charter group trip has different sign-up procedures, cancelation rules and diving expectations. Interested passengers should contact the chartering group directly for more information on a charter trip.

  • Yes!

Please read the Peace Passenger Information Page. This is the most up to date resource for passenger information.

  • All SCUBA divers must present a valid, current, and legible diver certification card (air card) and/or Nitrox card from a recognized certification agency. Divers must have an air card to get air fills. Please note, a Nitrox certification card is not an air card, it is an add on that allows for nitrox fills. The Peace accepts certifications from PADI, SSI, SEI, or NAUI. Digital or physical cards are accepted. Divers with certifications from other agencies should confirm in advance that their certifying agency is recognized/certified by WRSTC, and be prepared to show this information to the crew. Certification cards from certifying agencies that no longer exist may or may not be accepted on a case by case basis. To ensure divers are familiar with current industry best safety practices, the Peace recommends divers with older certifications to seek out a current certification.

Any potential exceptions to this should be approved well in advance of the trip. Questions can be emailed to Peacediveboat@gmail.com

  • Individual diver reservation pricing depends on the trip. Open boat pricing can be found here.

Individuals desiring to dive with a charter group will need to contact the group listed on the Peace calendar for information on pricing and availability.

Charter group pricing inquiries should be emailed to Peacediveboat@gmail.com

  • Short answer - YES! But it is your responsibility to follow all relevant Fish and Wildlife law.

Please see our Peace Passenger Information Page for detailed information on gathering game.

  • The crew works hard to make your trip enjoyable and a majority of their income comes from tips. If you feel inclined, 20% of your ticket price is a customary and appropriate tip amount. Cash is deposited in the tip jar on the galley counter. We also accept venmo @peacediveboat (please put “TIP” and the date in the title).

  • Children are permitted aboard the Peace. A child of any age counts a passenger for the maximum passenger capacity.  Please read carefully for the rules that apply to children of various ages.

All children under the age of 6 must wear a life jacket at all times while on board.

For all open boat trips of any length, or any trips that include an overnight stay, passengers under the age of 10 are not permitted.

Children under the age of 10 must wear a life jacket at all times except while inside the galley, head, or bunkroom. Children under the age of 10 must be continuously supervised by an adult. The supervising adult must not be diving, sleeping, or in any way unavailable to supervise the child during the trip.

As PADI recommends, children under the age of 10 will not be allowed to dive.

Any passenger under the age of 16 must be accompanied on the trip by a parent or legal guardian.

Any passenger under the age of 18 must be accompanied on the trip by a responsible adult.

The dive shop, club, or other group is responsible for the conduct of all passengers on their charter. Any passenger that creates an unsafe condition may result in the charter being canceled for cause.

  • On single day trips, boarding begins at 6 AM on the day of departure. Passengers must be aboard by 7:00 AM for the mandatory safety briefing.

On overnight trips, boarding is the night before departure. Typically, boarding begins around 7 PM with the Captain’s permission. All passengers must be aboard by 9PM for the mandatory safety briefing.

Passengers who are not at the safety briefing may be denied boarding.

  • All destinations and departure times are subject to change depending decisions made by the Captain on weather and sea conditions. Unfortunately, we are not able to predict what the weather will be like for an upcoming trip.

Our captains have many years of experience in our oceans and they pay close attention to the weather forecasts. With the forecasts and their expertise they decide when and if a trip needs to be canceled for the safety of our passengers. Weather forecasts can be wrong and can change, so it is important to trust our captains' experience. Our boat is large and the islands offer a great deal of protection, so even if the weather report does not seem ideal we can still find great diving in protected areas of the islands. We do still run our trips if there is rain as we do have a large galley and other amenities to offer protection from the rain and to keep warm.

Part of the beauty of the Channel Islands is the wide variety of dive sites. If we can’t get to specific area, there are often many other close by sites that may have better conditions.

  • We are located at 1691 Spinnaker Drive, Ventura CA 93001, just south of the Island Packers building at dock E-16. For detailed maps and parking information, see our contact page.

  • The Peace Boat does not offer nor supply any rental equipment. Passengers need to bring all required diving equipment, including weights.

The Peace recommends divers visit their local dive center and try on and check out the equipment before boarding.

  • The PEACE is able to fill tanks up to 3400 PSI.

  • Cameras and video equipment are welcome aboard. There are fresh water rinse tanks along the Starboard side for your convenience.

  • Night Diving is available on overnight trips only, conditions permitting. The PEACE requires all night divers carry a MAIN light, a BACKUP light, and a TANK light, no exceptions.

  • All of our trips (unless otherwise specified) include food and non-alcoholic beverages. Sodas are provided for your convenience and also filtered water, milk, coffee and other hot beverages. Passengers are welcome to bring along their own alcoholic beverages. However, we request that you bring your own ice and cooler to store them in. For those passengers with special diets (i.e., vegetarian), please be sure to email the Peace at least 7 days prior to boarding. • Searching for, storing, and paying crew to retrieve and return abandoned property has become a large expense for the Peace. As a result, we reluctantly have had to change our lost and found policy.

As stated in the waiver signed by all passengers as they board, the Peace does not inventory or store abandoned property. Abandoned property is placed in an unsecured location on the dock for passenger retrieval. Email peacediveboat@gmail.com for instructions on how to check for your property.

If you left something and you want Peace crew to search for it, we can facilitate hiring crew to attempt to locate and ship your item to you. There is a minimum $250 fee for this service. Email us at peacediveboat@gmail.com.

The Peace is not responsible for any items left aboard after a trip.

  • The Peace may offer Starlink internet service to passengers. This service is not guaranteed

Increasingly, cellular phone service is available at the islands. From our experience, Verizon and T-Mobile tend to have the best coverage. The Peace does not maintain specific information on where service cellular phone is available. Depending on the location, there may be no cell service available. Please consult your carrier for coverage information.

Working charters such as film productions or research charters can contact us for information on accessing Starlink for an additional cost.
